SCAPA Internship Program
SCAPA has created an internship program for both a bachelor’s degree and associate’s degree in civil engineering or construction science in order to promote the asphalt pavement industry and educate students about asphalt pavements and careers in the industry.
The internship takes place over the course of 12 weeks, beginning mid-May and ending in mid-August. SCAPA works to develop a framework for contractor members to follow to ensure that the student interns are exposed to all facets of the asphalt pavement industry from estimating to quality control procedures to project management. At the end of the internship, the interns receive a certificate of completion from SCAPA.
While SCAPA helps to coordinate the internship program, each asphalt producer company hires its own intern and develops a program to fit each company’s own needs. This is a paid internship.
